Night Fishing Method 2: Haheh
Nemesio, Esobio, and Matias.
Hook: | Nemesio—#5c, Fotomahech Matias—Harisehe Esobio—Fotomahech or Yawariyet |
Line: | Same as Hapeh hapeh (Night Fishing Method #1) Esobio—smaller. |
Leader: | None. Esobio—in former times they used very thin fiber 3 fathoms long. Today they use wire 1 foot long. |
Bait: | 3 feathers from chicken, duck, or bird called Habang. Esobio—Habang only, 1 feather if moon, 1-1/2 if no moon. You call this rig Parihaher. |
Go to same place as Hapeh hapeh (Night Fishing Method #1).
At night with no moon. Matias and Esobio say its ok to go with a moon.
Any tide. Matias—low tide going out. Esobio—any low tide.
Catch: Mor, Ritetifach, Chep, Mahabu, Yetoh, Hapichohoi
Nemesio—use 5 fathoms of line.
Matias—6 fathoms except in the North where you should use 12.
Esobio—for West use 6 fathoms; East use 10-12 fathoms; North use 20 fathoms; South 10-12 fathoms.
Drop line over stern.
Paddle very slowly with the left hand either with or against the current.
Hold the line in your right hand, pull the line in and out with your finger.
Esobio says you can go a little farther out, use a bigger hook and catch:
big Mor, Mos, Martamuch, Yatam, Bauch.
